What Should You Do When Someone Hurts You?

7th Sunday of Ordinary Time (A)

How should we respond, as Christians, when someone sins against us? When a friend betrays our trust? When someone does us wrong? In gospel this Sunday from the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus calls for us to “turn the other cheek” and to “love our enemies.” Does this mean Christians have to just lay down and take abuse? The scriptures also warn us against letting other people’s wrongdoings become occasions of sin for us. ” Though you may have to reprove your fellow citizen, do not incur sin because of him” (Lv 19:17). That’s what we dig into in this week’s video reflection!
