Dealing With Temptation
First Sunday of Lent (A)
The Mass readings for the First Sunday of Lent deal with the subject of temptation. We read both of Adam and Eve’s temptation in the Garden of Eden, and also Jesus’ temptation by Satan in the desert. We tend to think of temptation entirely in negative terms, as something that leads to sin. So why does God allow us to be tempted?
