Your word for the day is teleology: it means “the study of ends,” as in the purpose of things. God speaks in the scripture readings for this Sunday of His word achieving “the end for which I sent it” (Is 55:11). The scriptures tell of the natural end of things like rain and seed, and the supernatural end of God’s grace. All this begs the question: what is our end? Do you know the purpose of your life?
