Is the Church Anti-Science?

23rd Sunday of Ordinary Time (C)

This Sunday’s readings talk about two different ways of knowing the truth. “Scarce do we guess the things on earth, and what is within our grasp we find with difficulty; but when things are in heaven, who can search them out? Or who ever knew your counsel, except you had given wisdom and sent your holy spirit from on high? (Wis 9:16-17).

Reason is how we understand the “things of earth” and faith is how we understand the “things of heaven.” These are two ways of knowing truth, but often the world paints them as being in conflict with one another. But is this true? We look at this question in this week’s video reflection.
