How Can We See God?

13th Sunday of Ordinary Time (A)

Getting close to God doesn’t always make us feel good. In fact, sometimes it can do the opposite. When we contemplate God’s perfect goodness and examine ourselves in light of God’s perfection, we become aware of just how far away from that ideal we are. This is underscored by the fact that in the Old Testament we are shown many times that getting close to God can be deadly. But in Christ, God has come close to us and made it possible for us not only to see Him, but to love Him. That’s the Good News I talk about in this week’s video reflection.
