Do Our Good Works Matter?
26th Sunday of Ordinary Time (C)
In this week’s video reflection, I ask the question, “Do our good works really matter?” Most Protestant denominations teach that we are saved by faith alone, while the Catholic Church has always maintained that we are saved both by faith and good works. What does the parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man that we read in this Sunday’s gospel, as well as St. Paul’s instruction to “compete well for the faith,” (1 Tm 6:12) have to teach us about putting our faith into action?
