Religious Freedom Pilgrimage

February 20-27, 2027

Join us this spring semester for a domestic pilgrimage to learn about the history and impact of Catholicism in the United States and the legacy of religious freedom in our nation.

Our itinerary will include visits to the National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, the first US citizen to be canonized a saint, as well as the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto, the National Shrine of Pope St. John Paul II, the National Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, and the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America, as well as visits to Independence Hall, the Capitol Building, Gettysburg National Military Park, and other sites of import to the history of Catholicism in America.

Students will have a chance to pray, venerate relics of important American saints, participate in Mass at beautiful, historic churches, as well as learn about the impact of Catholicism in the history of our nation.

Currently enrolled WCU students may also receive 3 hours of class credit (PRM 486). A course registration code will be sent to eligible students.
